Split, Croatia - Gem of the Adriatic Sea

Holiday in Split

When it comes recommending a europian country for someone from another continent, the first name which pops into my head is Split, Croatia.
If I would have to give one reason why I choose Split, I could not decide between: 1. its historical heritage, 2. the beautiful beaches or 3. the vibrant nightlife. But I guess all of these aspects make Split the location so many want to visit.
We just returned from an amazing 1-week vacation and it was unbelievable. The first half of the week we spent in the town, exploring all the historical monuments and gorgeous sites. Diocleation's Palace is just breathtaking as well as the cathedral and Tower of Saint Domnius...and I could go on and on to enlist all the amazing monuments one can find here.
The second half of the week was more about relaxing on the beach and just enjoying the warm climate and the ocean breeze. Of course, we couldn't miss to charter a Sailo boat, just as we did last time in Lisbon. You can't go wrong with a day on the water. It is a must have!
We had amazing meals in Korkula (just a few we liked: Konoba Belin, Fish'n'go, Aterina etc.). I always like to mix up the fresh seafood with some local Croatian cuisine, this time, we choose Sopranik, which is a flat vegetarian pie filled with swiss chard, garlic, and parsley. Incredibly delicious.
All in all, this is one of my favorite destinations and we will go back next year for sure.

Cascais, Portugal

Sunset Cruise

We had a fantastic sunset cruise in Cascais. We rented a luxurious sailboat at Sailo - they have plenty of boats, so you can find the one that perfectly suits your needs. It was lovely to see Cascais from the water. Our skipper was very friendly and eager to show the hidden beauties of this region. I will definitely go back next year!large_Cascais_sunset_cruise.jpg
